Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (Festival of Filipino Films), abbreviated as PPP, is a film festival held in the Philippines in celebration of the Buwan ng Wika. Founded on 2017, the second edition was held on August 15-19, 2018. The following are the eight entries and their respective box office gross for the period, August 15-19.
1. The Day After Valentines - P45M
Kai (JC Santos), a distraught man meets Lani (Bela Padilla), a strong, confident woman who seems to have answers to all of life’s most difficult questions. Kai realizes that with Lani's wisdom and “go-get” attitude, he may be able to fix everything in his life.
2. Unli Life - P29M
A man (Vhong Navarro) discovers a magical bottle of whiskey which would let him go back in time. The perfect solution that would help him get back with his ex-girlfriend (Wynwyn Marquez), he goes from different eras, hoping that he could go back to the time where he could prevent their break-up.
3. Ang Babaeng Allergic Sa Wifi - P15M
Trans. The Girl Who Is Allergic To Wifi.
It follows Norma (Sue Ramirez), a teenager who is obsessed with social media. When she is diagnosed with electromagnetic hypersensitivity (which means she can't be around any gadgets), she is sent to somewhere without signal, where she needs to deal with a long-distance relationship with her boyfriend.
4. Bakwit Boys - P5.2M
Four brothers, who are forced to leave their hometown after it is devastated by a super typhoon, struggle to bring music back into their lives. They then meet a city girl who discovers their talent and wants to help them succeed.
5. We Will Not Die Tonight - P5M
A stunt woman (Erich Gonzales) and her friends must escape from a bloody fight after they realized that the gang they joined in were a group of kids as bait.
6. Pinay Beauty (She's No White) - P4.8M
7. Signal Rock - P3M
Intoy (Christian Bables) takes care of his parents when his sister moved out to work overseas. Since he lives in a remote area in Samar, the only way he could contact his sister is by going to strange rock formations on the island.
8. Madilim Ang Gabi - P2M
Eng. Dark is the Night.
Couple Sara (Gina Alajar) and Lando (Phillip Salvador) are trying to leave behind their criminal past, and survive with their small, but honest livelihood.
